I agree. The Scottrade rep told me that all brokerage houses are charged $40 for the transfer, per investor account. It's up to the brokerage house to either cover the costs, or pass the charge down to the investor. Scottrade splits the cost, whereas Ameritrade absorbs all of it.
In the grand scheme of things, it's a pittance, but it's the principle of it that bothers me. I'm not a fan of the RS—as I'm sure many of us here aren't—so being charged anything for it disturbs me even more.
Oh, well. I'm done griping. And now I'm looking forward to having this whole RS mess behind us.
