The Bril-OM trial was the proof of concept to allow the UP trial to start.
If you were thinking logically, which would be smarter? To start a trial which involves only that a patient use a mouthwash 3 times a day, and results can be documented easily with photographs of their open mouth; or, a protocol that requires giving patients enemas and using expensive and invasive procedures (involving proctoscopes and anesthetic) to examine lesions?
