I spent two years in a Southern California beach town
1970-1972 - absolutely perfect.
Manhattan Beach . No building 3 stories high.
no extra parking for tourists. no smog right there.
I have been told it all sucks down there now.
With mexicans and graffiti.
But the southern half of California is way whacked.
It really should be two states north / south
