Rosen firm has several goals. They want to keep doing their slimy, in some people's opinions criminal greenmail business, as long as possible. They also think they can wear CTIX down, into accepting a crappy deal to make this go away.

In their worst case scenario, having one or both of the slimeballs who pursued this case for the Rosen firm (Kim and Stern) being suspended or disbarred, the longer they can try to put that off, the more innocent companies they can attack.

It was significant that they're having inexperienced junior attorney Stern taking point on this now. They're going to make him the scapegoat. "Mr. Kim was just helping him, it was Stern who made the decisions" will be their claim.

We thought it was weird at the time that they put Stern on this when it became clear that their ship had taken on water and was headed for Davy Jones' Locker.* In retrospect it seems possible that they decided to throw the pile of crap on him instead of Mr. Senior Partner Kim.

*Do younger people even know the term Davy Jones' Locker any more?
