Big screen, 4KTV shipments surge in China
The IHS TV Sets Market Tracker found that shipments in China increased at more than double the global average in the first quarter of 2016, significantly higher than North America.
The analyst revealed that with many new Chinese TV brands offering steep discounts, shipments of big-screen TVs in China increased nearly 80% in the first quarter of 2016, compared with the previous year, which is more than twice the level of global growth. As a result, large-screen TV shipments in China rose from 2.1 million units in the first quarter of 2015 to reach 3.8 million units in the first quarter of 2016.
