Impossible to estimate as It depends on who and how many are holding short positions. To a Goldman Sachs or JPMorgan or huge hedge fund vs. a few individual investors from offshore but you can be sure they are making money.
Selling non existent shares is very very profitable and since they have rigged the system there are very few short squeezes. Looking forward to seeing some lawsuits brought at the State level now that the Supreme Court has given its approval. A few losses and the accompanying bad press may be the best thing for investors and the worst thing for those that abusively naked short. I would love to see some whistleblowers step up as well. Go NTEK!!!
