I'll share publicly what I've said to some privately. Having to look at these gratuitously hostile and ugly posts is like being forced to drink castor oil. Name-calling; shaming; what feels like knee-jerk negativity. The scraps of info I get here aren't worth it; it's like having to go mining in a cesspool.

My professional credentials, which I feel no need to share, suggest I could make a positive contribution to this discussion. You might think that the people who control this Board would want to make it the sort of place where people like me feel at home and encouraged to contribute. Unfortunately, the vibe is exactly the opposite of this. Every time I decide to check out what's been posted here, I find myself asking myself this question: Why am I choosing to do this? There's ugliness everywhere I turn these days. Why come here for it?
