I use to be a hold till the bitter end type trader when I first started, and I would hit the jackpot a lot too! But as time went on I started loosing more and realized that I didn't want to sell just a little... not all but a little on greener days because I was being greedy.

I wanted the whole amount of initial shares I had to go up and didn't want to part with any because I was so use to hitting the jackpot. But it started working less. So I put my greedy tendencies aside, and so I started holding a large position and then selling some when the chart would peak. I was then able to buy more when the chart came back down.

I started being ok with this because if anything ever went totally wrong... Then I wouldn't have a full blown loss or be a deep bag holder.

That's just from my experience. But you also make sense. Do what you need to do.
