Hey goodbuddy. I have some hearing loss (47 years of being a musician) and I use the old school, over-the-ear headphones with my Roku. The sound is fantastic! If you have your TV connected to a sound system like a stereo or home theater, you can plug your headphones into the headphone jack of that system and the TV speakers will still work. That way you can adjust your headphone volume the way you like and your wife can adjust the TV volume the way she likes. Hope that helps.
