"And then I have days where, if I come home — and I don't want to sound too much like a chauvinist — but when I come home and dinner's not ready, I go through the roof."

Donald Trump Doesn’t Think Married Women Should Work

In the latest installment of Donald Trump’s misogyny, a 1994 interview has resurfaced where the presumptive GOP nominee said allowing a married woman to work is a bad idea.

“I think that putting a wife to work is a very dangerous thing. If you’re in business for yourself, I really think it’s a bad idea,” Trump said. “I think that was the single greatest cause of what happened to my marriage with Ivana.”

In the same interview, Trump also expressed a similar feeling about his second wife, Marla Maples – the woman he had an affair with while married to his first wife.

“I have days where I think it’s great,” Trump said of his marriage to Maples. “And then I have days where, if I come home — and I don’t want to sound too much like a chauvinist — but when I come home and dinner’s not ready, I go through the roof.”

As Vox founder Ezra Klein tweeted out today, “Sentences that begin with ‘I don’t want to sound too much like a chauvinist’ rarely end well.”

Of course, Trump’s questionable attitudes about the women in his life didn’t end there. The presumptive Republican nominee also admitted that women are playthings of which he quickly gets bored.

“I love creating stars. And to a certain extent, I’ve done that with Ivana. To a certain extent, I’ve done that with Marla. And I like that,” the spray-tanned buffoon said in the same interview. “Unfortunately, after they’re a star, the fun is over for me. It’s like a creation process. It’s almost like creating a building; it’s pretty sad.”

Pretty sad, indeed.
