The move to deny separation of church from state in this country, and toward a more Christian theocracy, comes exclusively from the right.
And of course the Islamic 'Republic' of Iran IS a theocracy, and it is decidedly NOT liberal.
The divine rights of kings and queens was also not a 'liberal' concept.
