You know what we need - a system, something similar to the credit rating agencies. Perhaps a few categories to generate a rating of a few characters ranging from A to F in sequential descending order of importance so that readers are aware of the poster. First draft proposal:
1) Trustworthiness: A=no known discretion, C=numerical/fact discrepancies in numerous posts, F=known to use several aliases and replies to self.
2) Consistency: A=well established style, C=opinion changes with the tide, F=obviously agenda driven, goes on bashing/pumping sprees.
3) Board worth: A=always uses facts to help others, C=small amounts of input, F=useless and disparaging remarks are the norm.
4) Posting Manners: A=never insults, C=occasional outbursts, F=trolls just to troll.
Obviously an AAAA rating is desired and FFFF is a rating that identifies an individual to be completely ignored!!!
Drano - I'm picking on you, but for example, you have one and only one alias, not sure a numerical discrepancy ever is posted on purpose, your posting style is consistent and rooted in fact, very helpful although some posters may provide more time at assembling facts for DD, you rarely insult others, obviously not a troll - i'll say AABA.
Whereas I do have a different alias on liehub, am known to insult, rarely assemble DD but try sometimes to answer questions, maybe I get BACB?
Or take someone we know uses different aliases, tries to distort in many posts, agenda driven, not helpful at all, trolls and trolls away - FFFF (i think we know a few of these). Is it appropriate to put a chart together and sticky it at the top so newcomers know who to ignore??? Haha, I can't decide if I'm joking about putting together a "Poster Rating" chart or not... hmm...
