Re: Loose Lips #23271
Today's news was important. The short half-life of Prurisol -- half of it's gone in less than an hour and a half -- indicates that it is not just constantly suppressing an overactive immune response, as steroids and some of the biologics do. Rather, it might be hitting the re-set button on whatever the root cause of the psoriasis is. This reminds me of one of the advantages of Brilacidin, which also has a shorter half-life, so the chance of developing bad reactions is less than for the drugs that last a long time in the body.
The fact that the drop-out rate was higher for those NOT getting the drug than it was for those who were actually getting Prurisol seems to indicate that some of the people who got the drug could tell they were getting some help because of the drug -- which the company confirmed with the anecdotal reports of the skin not feeling as dry. The standard that they measured, dropping down 2 points on a 5-point scale, in just 12 weeks, was an awfully high standard to meet. The fact that almost half of the people on the higher dose DID achieve that goal tells us how powerful and effective Prurisol is. It will be interesting to see what happens when people are on the drug for longer time periods, and at higher doses.
