Those shareholders are giving him awful advice. Matt'so biggest issue right now is his reputation. He lost those two deals, by his own admission, because of the noise createn by paid posts. Those post call him a scammed, a fraud, and untrustworthy. By not keeping to his word and going dark again, he validates the noise.

Matt needs to build trust, only way to do that is to keep his word.

Whoever told him to go dark and not deliver has only hurt his reputation more.

Trust is what is needed, he has very little now.
