It doesn't matter what shell does now. The price is going nowhere unless there is real news from the company. They pr'd a merger that didn't happen and then disappeared. If they come out and do something, just for example pay another dividend, or complete the merger, then the price might just go up 10,000% as you say, but it wont happen just because Janice shell stops posting.
