Interesting article YES but since that 1980 boom in gold and silver prices there have been many such articles on the metals, to confuse or manipulate buyers and sellers. A day of reckoning may come but will it be in our lifetime.
I do hold some physical gold and silver more as a PAID UP insurance policy than an investment and if no event comes up that I should sell , will just pass it on to my heirs.
That article and recent others like it seem to of had little effect on the metals other than maybe stop the downtrend in prices as they have recently recovered some but not ALL.
There will be still indeed much trading in the "PAPER" metal ETFs even if traders fully understand there is little backing to them. As they are like other stocks just something to trade short term. See those "PAPER" ETFs as one of the reasons physical metals are currently selling at such low prices currently as you can print paper contracts faster than mine the metals and satisfy the needs to have some (HO HO HO).
