Wow, amazed that Business Insider would have that article. I've been saying things like that for YEARS, and people thought I was crazy. Well, maybe it wasn't based entirely on my thoughts about gold.... 
Whatever you do, if you want to own some gold, do NOT buy GLD, the gold ETF. Paper gold. Buy CEF, which has a vault in Canada, holds physical gold and silver 50/50. There's also PHYS, which is "physical" gold.
Beware if you buy gold coins from someone on the internet. Make sure it's a long-time established dealer. Scamsters abound.
