Republicans should hope that Sanders does not somehow overtake Clinton or get to a contested convention where anything can happen. Confirmed by Trump himself that he would have problems facing Sanders. Indeed he would. He is beaten more soundly by greater numbers in every poll by Sanders over Clinton. More bad news, he is still beaten in almost all polls by Clinton as well.
Even worse news. Once Sanders is defeated, and more then likely he will be, his supporters will not rank and file switch sides. Some will, just as many nervous GOP will stay home. On the contrary, Sanders has generated Trumpesqe-like excitement and a movement in 45 and younger voters.
Overall not good for a Republican Party already torn to shreds.
