p53? NPR story, elephants don't get cancer. A doctor from a children's hospital in Salt Lake City asked Ringling Brothers to let him analyze the blood they routinely draw from their elephants, to see if he could figure out WHY they don't get cancer. Surprise surprise -- he says they have multiple copies of "a cancer-fighting gene."
Could it be p53?
