very true-1 of the reasons I allowed my best friend to drag me into stocks- mm's were essentially zero interest
too many people and orgs are wannabe monopolies trying to take over the world via unsatiable greed-
all about profit and taking over the world/greater market share so when they cant grow in other ways its all about M+A
banks of course urge fed to raise rates for even greater profits
