Well..that is the argument. Raising the minimal wage will increase tax revenue ..et al. If you study the increases over the last 77 years...you would see that at "no" time was the minimal wage increased so dramatically. The off set is a loss of jobs relative to increased pay. You would also see larger unemployment costs et al. A minimal wage is in itself a set up for well fare. so...again:
April 1990 (Bush): $3.80/hr ($6.82/hr)
April 1991 (Bush): $4.25/hr ($7.30/hr)
October 1996 (Clinton): $4.75/hr ($7.08/hr)
September 1997 (Clinton): $5.15/hr ($7.51/hr)
July 2007 (GW Bush): $5.85/hr ($6.61/hr)
July 2008 (GW Bush): $6.55/hr ($7.12/hr)
July 2009 (Obama): $7.25/hr ($7.80/hr)
The minimal wage has not even doubled in the last 26 years. Bernie sanders suggests doubling the minimal wage in SEVERAL YEARS. That in itself is insanity. I am glad that Hillary stays here stance on that 12.50 mark....bottom line. It's not a GOP thing by the way...so get off the kool aid. It's called common sense.
