I've never used the mobile version so I don't know about that. Why don't you PM the Hangout admin and ask about it?

For everyone's information, if you want to PM the Admin, go up to the search box, type in IH Admin and then get MEMBER on the pull-down menu. That takes you to his page, and you can click the Send A Message link.
