OT I'd be happy to lose my entire AVXL investment (and it's not a small amount) if this protein can genuinely reverse Alzheimer's. BUT -- mouse models do not seem to translate well to human results with Alzheimer's drug. So I'm glad someone is pursuing this research, and the sooner they can get to clinical trials the better -- but I remain skeptical.

By the way, I think that AVXL has made a very good move by trying to diversify their drug applications. They have that Michael J. Fox grant to investigate it for Parkinson's, and also they are hopeful of having a better epileptic seizure drug. So AVXL will take a huge hit if these other guys succeed in getting to human trials quickly and show signs of efficacy -- but there still should be value in the company.
