It may be off topic but it's important. I think that the Alzheimer's epidemic is due to two major factors -- the use of all these drugs, whose long-term side effects we are only now beginning to admit; and the toxic high-carbohydrate low-fat diet.
(Not to mention the use of statin drugs, which are well known to have cognitive side effects)
90% of the cholesterol in your body is in your BRAIN. It is needed for healthy BRAIN function.
The diabetes epidemic also, in my opinion, was triggered by the now-discredited, falsified study claiming that fat consumption caused heart disease. An interesting fact: people with higher cholesterol levels in old age live longer than those with low levels.
