Hard to tell these days Free...don't know if it's just some fear-mongering reporter trying to make something out of nothing , or a genuine threat from the banks, again. Based on the events of 2008, I sure wouldn't rule out another banking catastrophe...the too-big-to-fail issues were never fully addressed & the same goes for the over-extended (crooked) bank loan practices. If this report is true, some of those EU banking failures do seem a bit worrisome, especially if it spreads. As for common depositors here in the US, we have the FDIC, which insures our deposits (within limits) against bank failures, but that doesn't necessarily protect us from greater ramifications, like the 2008 crash.
