I think that's simply a reflection of the very well known VS he relatively unknown. Kasich IS a conservative Republican.
That is all that is necessary to unite Dems, including most Bernie supporters, and most independents against him.
And Imagine if Kasich gets the nomination with fewer votes AND delegates than Trump. The resulting turmoil will tear the GOP apart with Trump likely running a third Party challenge.
