Taking credit for something he didn't do. Lol
This is too easy. Obama was entitled to no less credit for giving the order to 'dispatch' bin Laden than would any GOP president have been entitled to.
We all know that if Bush had given the same order, with the same results, we'd be holding parades on the date of the mission every year and the GOP would run on it for generations.
As for the 'under the bus' fantasies? LOL!

This “scandal” ranks about a 2 on the “easy to research” scale. Without any of the politics, absolutely zero knowledge of mission history or military operations, a child with a 2nd grade education could very easily figure out that red and gold are two different colors, debunking this entire load of crap in under a minute.
Yet the story, in all of its glorious stupidity, just won’t go away. The modern-day conservative whack job really is an enigma. How an entire block of people could be so painfully ignorant in an age when information is so readily available is a mystery of biblical proportion.

On August 6, 2011, a Chinook helicopter was shot down in Afghanistan, resulting in the greatest loss of American life in a single action of that war. 30 Americans and 8 Afghani troops lost their lives that day. Of the 30 Americans killed, 17 were from the elite SEAL team six, the Naval special forces division credited with completing the mission that killed Osama Bin Laden.
Whenever tragedy like that strikes, families of the deceased demand answers. The pain of losing a husband, son or father often results in outrage. Did someone make a bad call? Was there sufficient intel of forces on the ground to send in a helicopter of that size? What did we do wrong that we can learn from? Those are the kinds of questions people want answers to, and rightfully so.
In the era of “blame everything on President Obama because it’s obviously all just a conspiracy to “keep a Muslim in the White House,” those questions are only the beginning.
Since 2011, this “scandal” comes up every now and again when some conservative knucklehead runs out of garbage to share to keep the GOP’s extremist-right base engaged in tinfoil hat-wearing paranoia. The story, according to the right-wing nutjobs at Patriot Net Daily and elsewhere, goes like this :
SEAL Team Six are the ones who were sent to kill Osama Bin Laden. After going to Pakistan and raiding Bin Laden’s compound, they were upset to find that he wasn’t there. That wasn’t good enough for Obama, who swore them to secrecy and came up with the whole “we killed Bin Laden and buried him at sea” story. The whole thing is a lie to make Obama look good. You can ask the Russians if you don’t believe it. Or Allen West. Allen West knows everything.
Anyway…Obama was nervous at rumors that Seal Team Six might tell the truth, so when he discovered they would be on a Chinook in Afghanistan, he called his terrorist buddies, made sure they had RPGs and had them all murdered.
It’s a fantastic story that the right-wing fruit loop really loves to tell. I have myself heard it told in real life while having dinner at the Olive Garden, and it took everything I had not to spit my food onto my plate and roll onto the floor in hysterical laughter.
Here’s why:
In the wake of the Iran hostage crisis of 1979, SEAL Team Six was formed. Made famous by a Hollywood movie, the misconception that Seal Team Six was a single unit of highly trained operatives became legendary. The team actually originally consisted of 75 shooters, and after a short run of 8 years, it was disbanded and the Naval Special Warfare Development Group (DEVGRU) was born to take its place. The Group is still known by the moniker “SEAL Team Six,” and the misconception that they are a half-dozen guys who walk out on their own weddings because Charlie Sheen’s beeper went off still exists.
In actuality, DEVGRU is broken down into six line squadrons, designated by color, with each squadron having its own specialty. The squadrons are about 50 men strong, meaning the elite Seal Team Six is in fact a group of 300 or so who carry out special operations all over the world.
The men who carried out the raid that killed Osama Bin Laden were from DEVGRU Red. They most certainly did invade Bin Laden’s compound and they most certainly did kill Osama Bin Laden. There’s been a bunch of publicity surrounding the operation, and at least two of the men involved have broken their silence to pursue the fame and fortune killing the world’s most wanted man has to offer.
The men killed in Afghanistan on the Chinook were DEVGRU Gold. Not only did those men have nothing to do with the Bin Laden raid, they likely never met their counterparts from DEVGRU Red.
Maybe that’s why there’s no logical answer for it.
