Sony captures UHD football for US viewers

Owners of the latest Sony 4K TV sets and living in Florida, New York and parts of California, could view a test screening of an international football match that took place more than a month ago.
The match, between Mexico and Senegal, was played at Miami’s Marlins Park on February 10th, and captured with more than 20 of Sony’s high-end 4K HDC-4300 cameras, and was then delivered over-the-top to hand-picked viewers alerted to the event ahead of time. The game was organised by Univision Deportes (a division of Univision Communication).
“These 4K live streaming tests reveal that the streaming and broadcast of live 4K sports is on its way to consumers in the near future,” said Suynil Nayyar, Sony USA’s director of product marketing.
