I may be alone in this thinking but as ludicrous and desperate the Easter Promos appears I actually am in favor of basically giving away our movies and sacrificing profits for revenue and exposure.

Amazon has been doing this for decades now. Amazon profits (if any are razor thin) but they are a revenue monster.

Of course the best way of avoiding the movie giveaways and the appearance of desperation would have been to bring in a partner with some $$ funding.
