Reasonable people can disagree about the utility of such a statistic.

There is no downside to posting this figure, which has greatly changed in recent days. If the figure is meaningless, well, some of us like to see it, like following box scores for a baseball game. It's a data point, and over time we may figure out how to interpret it, as one poster said his brilliant trader friend did.

But the fact that so many on other sites became rabid about it when AlanC started posting it -- to the extent that a moderator from another site came over here and chain-posted with such abusive comments that I was forced to delete one of his many, many posts -- and after he'd been asked to stop posting the same thing over and over again.

So what I say is, where there's smoke there's fire. And if you think that your posting carries any weight with any CTIX bulls after the weekend you openly bashed, you are mistaken.

As Star Trek's Mr. Scott said,

"Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me."
