Actually I think that the GOP is terrified of not only losing the presidential election but of what will happen 'down ticket' .
As far as 'not doing what they say they're going to do'?
Unrealistic expectations were raised that account not at all for the power of a twice elected president, as if those popular vote margins don't count as the 'will of at least THOSE voters'.
And some Republican voters don't understand the checks and balances that constrain both Parties in Congress.
