I have hinted at this a few times so here's one big reason I am holding tight with ITalk and so should you.
Google taking a turn as an MVNO on the surface wouldn't seem all that special. But where things get more interesting is when you consider who owns America's existing MVNOs. AT&T, Inc. (T) -- America's second largest carrier -- owns Cricket Wireless. T-Mobile owns MetroPCS. And Sprint owns Boost Mobile and Virgin Mobile. That leaves StraightTalk as the only major MVNO that isn't owned by one of America's top four carriers. (StraightTalk is coowned by Wal-Mart Stores Inc. (WMT) and Tracfone, a subsidiary of Mexico's largest telecom company, América Móvil SAB de CV (AMX)). Thus as one of the only MVNO operators not already in the postpaid space, Google could potentially contend for the title of America's fifth or sixth largest carrier, depending how its offering fared versus StraightTalk.
Article forgot to add ITalk to the list. since merger between CPD and ITALK provides Google everything they need for Project FI.
