While he is in the think tank developing new ideas for ntek he still has a family to provide for with a hefty mortgage. Ntek can't have him on the payroll while he's not there to serve so the shares I believe were a necessary evil. When the pps fell even more shares were necessary to sustain his family. Just my thought on subject.
