you are reading the numbers wrong. in the column on the right, its a 6 month period and on the left, a 3 month period. $780k spent over 6 months of which $408k was spent in the last 3 months. if you do simple subtraction, that means about 380k was spent from july to sept and a similar amount, $408k spent from oct to dec. no big increase there.

again, look at the column heading. 325k spent over 6 months ending in dec 2015. 118k spent during oct to dec 2015. do the subtraction and you'll see that july to sept 2015 spending was (325-118=) 207k. so basically, we saw the marketing and advertising expenses cut in half in the last 3 months vs the previous 3 months.
