Before I go fishing I pick where I'm going and what fish I'm targeting , then I strip all the line off my reels wipe down my gear oil the reels tighten all screws check my drag system then I add new line with proper lb test , get the right bait live and artifical bait for the fish I'm after. Now that this is complete I read weather reports best moon gravitational pull day or evening pick the day.......now I'm set.
Now what buffet to pack, sub sandwiches pepperoni provolone French's mustard I'll make 6 six inch subs , gallon of tea couple of sodas and half dozen brownies and my buffet is ready for fishing. Now I fuel up the car , boat check tiers on both bring tie repair kit with 2 cans fix a flat in a can get cash 7 dobbies and I'm still not ready.
That's just step one when I go fishing, theres still 2 more
gruling steps before going fishing, it's worth it once I go I pretty much bring everything.

Because I can't sleep the night before I go over all three steps double checking to make sure I'm ready, then I realize I still need to string my line tie my lures on so I do that.....I never really sleep the day before going .
