We've all heard of sleeper cells -- as in the FX show The Americans, put an agent in place who seems to be a regular person, and then when the need arises, surprise! They're spies.

So here we have people who have been passing as reasonable -- in fact the one that surprised me so much has been quite bullish until today -- but it looks like the emergency is perceived and he's been activated.
