Re: scottsmith #18847
Posted for the sake of any people who are not familiar with CTIX, in response to the gross misrepresentations of my position. It is a common tactic of people arguing in bad faith to set up a "straw man" argument in which a false premise is argued. In particular, it is common to mis-state what someone else says, and then demand that they defend a position they did not take, trying to discredit them by stating this false position in a way that makes them look foolish.

When that was shown to be far from prudent, you then changed your position to:

Now he is claiming that I said something I never said. A word to the wise: when someone says "is it fair to say that...." it is NEVER fair to say whatever words it is they put into my mouth.
Here's what he claims I said:
I never said that. You are making a false claim as to what I have posted, which is here for all who want to spend time going back through old posts.
As you know, I did not say that it was "unreasonable and unwise" to scale in to this stock. I stated that I thought it was foolish to wait until after a stock runs up to buy it (as YOU advised), when it is grossly underpriced now. This was not, as you claim, a discussion of your second, CHANGED position that you assumed when your first advice to ""withhold from buying until after P results" was shown to be NOT "prudent."
Likewise, you are claiming that I stated something I did not post regarding the Prurisol trial. You were attempting to start a discussion of how low the CTIX price would fall if the Prurisol trial failed, a false premise that I discussed already. As I have stated, it is futile to discuss share price in your scenario, because we have no idea what CTIX's share price will be before any Prurisol results are known; we have no idea whether there will be news from other clinical trials that may be impressive, as many of us expect. As I stated, if this stock is at a much higher level because of good news from other drugs, even in the event that Prurisol were to be disappoint which I have no reason to expect and for which you have no special knowledge either , the effect on the stock would be much less than if it were the only drug that this company were pursuing.
For the record, I have defended you in the past when people accused of of being a soft basher. Your recent posts have changed my mind. My apologies to those people, as I acknowledge my mistake.
It seems evident that you are very interested in trying to get people not to buy this stock. Perhaps you yourself have not bought your full position.

Stating that it might be a good idea to withhold from buying until after P results should not be an amazing conclusion. It's just prudent risk management.

If I didn't own shares in CTIX, I would scale in starting now and fill out my pisition [sic] after P results , regardless if they were positive or negative.
