I see where you are going. Thanks for spelling it out. The dollar and yen would be the reason to atleast protect the World. Unless the idea is deplete sovereign wealth funds and create a new monetary system. Not sure if that will happen during our lifetime but lines are being moved on the map, especially in the Middle East.

Anyway, if gold is used to settle short term debt, then the gold market has to push US equity too. The dollar even though not backed by gold is a weapon. The printing of more dolars in these last 8 years has flooded its position into practicly every countries economy in one shape or another. The spread of Capitalism maybe? I think so....slowly but surely. I do understand that China needs the US....and that is why they need gold too. They know they have a restricted policy to stick to via the IMF, World Bank and BIS unofficial directive...
