The 'left' believes in a wall between church and state. the right either want to blur that separation, or deny that it even exists. From that comes the right's belief that they have a right to insinuate their religious beliefs into laws. They don't.
When you claim that god is your authority, you lose that argument in a secular state, prima facie. Which is what the US Constitution guarantees. I'm not familiar with any arguments from the left claiming
divine authority.
When you come to the Gov. and lawmakers you overlook that we have a Republic, imperfect that it is, that entrusts the government to make and administer laws.
Don't like them, change them or break them and take the consequences. Good on the OR Militia 'takeover of the bird sanctuary. They ARE now facing the consequences.
