Even if analyzed and written up, there is a months-long process of peer review, as the draft circulates among all the authors and members of the review/sounding board. It is a slow iterative process, at least potentially. My brother in law authors and reviews many study reports/articles in a different medical area and says it can take even a year to get everyone happy with the final draft.
