You're right. It is something like : "we need to mute them, give them something to think about, we will do the work later". They have been silent for a while and now they only announced some things we expected, but with no detail.

IMHO they are not sure about the exact plan ATM, maybe still thinking about their options, strategy and didn't want to let us wait for our January SL... or are silent because of some other reason.
