Oh I don' no, maybe because much of the base was no more a fan of inter-racial marriage than they are of gay marriage.

Both of which are nobody else's business much less subject to power of the state to prohibit....anymore.

In any case it's the artists' right to withhold authorization of use for political purposes, which is a lot different that for weddings.
