Even if it didn't become their "major", they might be able to eventually get a distributorship started that could turn into a major source of income. Take on a partner and/or eventually redirect enough of the profit to pay them or someone else to handle the day to day requirements. It could be a real eye opener for young entrepreneurs, especially when working with a hugely popular brand.
