Please bear in mind that if GC had taken orders and dollars up front (as he claims is the delivery process), then the FIFO would apply. That being the case, natural gas gensets had to ship out before any other type fuel genset, because that was the first China deal (I think).
The natural gas genset is more complex because it is spark ignited and not a less complex pure diesel. It required parts that were special to a gaseous engine rather than a liquid diesel.
I feel the two month hold up was a vendor not getting the electronics done correctly or by the promised date..... for the natural gas gen.
That natural gas engine (2), I feel held up the less complex units getting out the door and made testing of a finalized natural gas genset stretch its scheduled completion date.
I also feel that the conversion process is fairly straight forward after the bugs of each part get fixed, I would feel about 4 to 8 hours on a swap-out would be doable. Of course there would then be run-in and tests per the customer but that is all part of the QC (quality control).
Just my opinion though. Stay very long.
