SunEdison's stock surges after disclosure of talks on new credit facility

SunEdison Inc.'s stock (SUNE) surged 5.4% in active premarket trade Thursday, after the renewable energy company said it was in talks on a new second lien credit facility of up to $650 million. The company said in a regulatory filing that the proceeds of the potential new facility, which may include a significant amount of outstanding equity, would be used to repay the existing second lien credit facility. The stock has tumbled 72% year to date, while the iShares Global Clean Energy ETF (ICLN) has gained 2.7% and the S&P 500 has tacked on 0.3%.
