I can see why the judge wanted to wait until after the holidays to get this on the road again. One thing to think about is that Rosen could conceivably have appealed, way down the line, on the basis that they had needed more time which they didn't get. (And remember that they are possibly going to have to face disbarment proceedings "if" (weasel word, legal protection) their misdeeds are proven. Now they can't use that as a basis for an appeal either in court or in disbarment proceedings. 3 weeks is plenty of time for a law firm to do what they should have done before filing the case.

Judges hate having people appeal on the basis of something the judge did.
