it helps to keep small time investors & day traders who visit the msg boards away from the stock. they either work for themselves (they would hold a short position) or more likely work for a ''cartel'' who holds a large short position.

some of them are very good at what they do and they thrive on attention. it's best not to interact with them at all. but i guess that goes against human nature, doesn't it?
