nasdaq requires share price to be $1 or more and be there for a period of time. i think 30 or 60 days or they boot you.
as far as examples of a penny stock becoming a big dollar stock, monster beverage co. took 3 years to get to 12 cents and another 5 years to break a dollar. and then fast forward and add another 12 years or so they are trading in the $150 pps range. in the last year monster stock went up $75 in value, basically doubling its price.
the energy drink industry is a good place to be right now.
