Sorry but wrong -- after I hit jackpot with DYN in 2007 _ I had bought a co called NSTK -- went into 20's -then market collapsed had 50K shares buy price was in 16's -- sold sub 12 -- I was given a 200G+ carry forward loss to add to that 3000 yearly exemption - this is just an example -- past year I owned VTSS sub $2 sold @ 5.28 reason I invested some profits here -- I've also had losers and after sales can use those losses +carry forwards +3G gov allows and won't pay ANY taxes on this years profits
Knowing what your losses and carry forwards are imperative if you continue to trade stocks - again reminder if you sale at a loss and repurchase within the next mo you LOSE that tax write-off - be careful out there as you can lose and still owe Gov $$'s
That's why sharp folks here picking up those distressed priced RMHB sellers shares -- Happens every Dec - I myself had a 1mm buy 0.05 that I pulled after seeing way too many sellers -- I'll add next week if my new limit hits
