Ramstein Air Force base had the best facilities, I was nearby in US Army 5 ton truck battalion in Volgewey. Landstuhl Hospital was nearby. Yes, that area very historic and beautiful as well. I feel fortunate to have had the opportunity to go there and also served 19 day mission to Turkey otherwise my butt would have been in Viet Nam where I thought I was going after enlisting in 1966.
